Hi there readers and interested folk, well its June and its snowing presently.......................................................IMG has had a busy start to the winter with a number of Single Cone climbs completed, and yes believe it or not a ski touring day!!!!!................................................. The winter snowpack is accumulating some depth, approx 1 metre at 1800metres...............................................After a period of 7 days of cold dry conditions the resultant depth hoar will be forming.................................There is ice around and with a wet autumn behind us I'm picking some fanatastic ice conditions will form shortly.................................................... IMG has a number of film safety days coming up and several winter trips on standby.......................................Backcountry ski and snowboard touring is the buzz round Queenstown Its looking like a very early start to the season so please book your trips with that in mind.........................Coronet Peak has opened already with an excellent cover.............................................
