Helicopter Snow Shoeing: “The newest product for the adventure tourism market in Queenstown!”

Fly to the top of a snowy peak or ridgeline with Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters. Get out, put your snow shoes on and it’s all downhill from there. Independent Mountain Guides has a variety of places to take people into the mountains for your snowshoe.

No puffing or great effort required. A few (approx 5) hours later and you’re at the pickup vehicle for a cosy drive back to Queenstown.

Independent Mountain Guides supplies for the Trip:
Snowshoes and hiking poles, avalanche transciever, a professional mountain guide (NZMGA) or instructor (NZOIA).
Ground transport is free of charge!

What to Bring?

A healthy snack and plenty of liquid refreshment. Wear your warm alpine clothing and footwear. IMG can supply some items. If you have a day pack please bring it to store your extra items in.

Don’t forget your camera, as there will be some wonderful views to photograph.

Trip commences 10am from Small Planet Sports, 17 Shotover Street, Queenstown and return by 4.30 pm.

About Your Guides

You will be accompanied by a winter backcountry expert who will make all safety calls, weather decisions.
Your Guide will be carrying a cell phone, first aid kit, shovel, and shelter tarp, plus personal gear.

Guides are members of NZOIA and NZMGA.
