An exhilarating yet mellow way of experiencing a physical adventure in the alpine zone.

This day activity is for the outdoor enthusiast keen to climb a peak with snow shoes. You could liken it to 4 wheel driving, as you plough a path through deep snow and realise without snow shoes you wouldn't be there. Once you get the hang of your snow shoes you will be revelling in this fantastic activity.

The venue(s) ranges from the Remarkables to the Mount Dewer Reserve, and Bowen Peak depending on the group's fitness levels.

Ski poles and snow shoes are supplied. IMG will transport you to the venue. You need to supply a backpack, and are expected to carry your own kit and to have a hot drink, snax and a healthy lunch. Winter clothing and footwear is expected to be provided by you but if you need extra IMG will supply what you are missing. Goggles and sunglasses are a must.

Don't forget your camera and film!

Day trips start from the shop or an appointed venue at 9.00 am and return by 4.30 pm.

Bookings are essential and will be accepted over the phone or via fax or e mail.

You will be accompanied by a winter backcountry expert who will make all safety calls, weather decisions , and he/she will be carrying a cell phone, 1st aid kit, shovel, and shelter tarp, plus personal gear.
