Learn about decisive decision making, the systematic approach, the use of avalanche transceivers (supplied) rescue methods, weather interpretation, test profiles, shear tests, terrain analysis and group management. Access via foot, skis, and snowshoes.
Bring your own shovel if you have one, lunch, hot drink and cold weather clothing/footwear. Transport is by car pooling and IMG.

Trips depart 8.30am., rain, hail, or snow and finish at 4.30pm.
Meet at the N.Z.Ski.Com Remarkables Ski Area old toll gate carpark. If the ski area is closed a transfer to the N.Z.Ski.Com Coronet Peak Ski Area will be made.

Learn self arresting, cutting steps, cramponing, ice axe use, snow anchors, rope management/belaying, prussicking, abseiling, and moving together whilst roped up. A peak will be climbed should the weather be in favour and participants have reached a confident standard.
If the weather is inclement snow shelters will be built and navigation skills taught. Some ice climbing skills will be taught given conditions and time.

Trips depart 8.00am from the N.Z.Ski.Com Remarkables Ski Area old tollgate carpark, rain, hail, or snow. If the ski area is closed the trip will be re-scheduled.
Bring your own lunch and hot drink. Cold weather and storm clothing is required We will supply avo transceiver, warm mountain boots, ice axe and crampons. Other technical gear is also supplied. Additional clothing and may be hired from IMG.
